Hapé (pronounced ha-peh) is a sacred snuff used in Amazonian shamanic traditions. Made from powdered medicinal plants — including high-nicotine tobacco and specific herbs — Hapé is a powerful tool for healing, spiritual connection, and grounding.
Ceremonies are facilitated by Lara Loreena Agapow, an experienced Hapé practitioner with training as a Hapé facilitator and extensive personal experience working with this sacred medicine. Lara brings respect, guidance, and care to each ceremony, ensuring a safe and intentional experience.
I work with a variety of Hapé blends, each chosen to support different energies and intentions. Some blends are grounding and centering, others support energetic clearing, spiritual connection, or focus.
Check in with me regarding what I have on hand or to share your intentions and needs — I can have the appropriate blend ready for your ceremony.
Some traditional blends include:
Hapé is a profound tool for those seeking grounding, spiritual insight, and energetic cleansing. Under the guidance of Lara Loreena Agapow, participants are supported in a safe, intentional, and respectful ceremony that fosters deep personal growth, connection to tradition, and clarity of mind, body, and spirit.

Traditional Hapé tools: tepi, kuripe, sacred medicine, and smudge.
A Hapé ceremony is a sacred practice designed to support clarity, grounding, and inner reflection. During the ceremony, the facilitator’s role is to hold space, provide gentle guidance, and ensure your physical and emotional safety. Here’s what you can expect at each stage of the experience.
An average Hapé ceremony typically lasts 30 to 60 minutes, though it can be shorter or longer depending on the setting and intention.
Here’s a simple breakdown:
Some one-on-one sessions may be as brief as 15–20 minutes, while group ceremonies or deeper journeys can extend to 90 minutes or more.
Ultimately, the ceremony moves at the pace of the medicine and the participants — it’s less about the clock and more about presence and integration 🌿
The ceremony begins with the opening and clearing of the space. Lara uses smudging and energetic clearing to create a safe, sacred environment. Together, we set intentions and offer prayer with the medicine, calling in the spirits of the plants, including tobacco and other elements in the Hapé blend, and giving thanks for their guidance and support. This process helps participants connect with the sacredness of the medicine and enter the ceremony with openness and reverence.
The Hapé is carefully prepared in the Tepi pipe and then blown into the nostrils, following the natural rhythm of your breath. During this journey, participants may experience heightened awareness, introspective insights, or physical sensations. Lara facilitates the process by supporting grounding and gently clearing any tensions with rose or Agua de Florida spray if needed. Soft music, natural sounds, or subtle ceremonial instruments may accompany the session to help maintain calm and focus. The facilitator remains present and attentive, allowing you to move through your experience safely and at your own pace.
After the journey phase, attention turns to integration and grounding. Lara supports participants with blankets, cushions, water, and gentle guidance in breath and body awareness. This phase allows you to rest, reflect, or quietly journal or draw insights from the experience. Sharing is optional — you are invited to process your experience at your own pace. The facilitator’s presence ensures safety, support, and calm energy as your body and mind transition back from the journey.
Following the ceremony, Lara may suggest gentle practices to help integrate insights into daily life, such as mindful walking, journaling, or meditation. Light snacks and hydration support physical recovery. Guidance is available for any questions or reflections that arise later. The focus is on processing the experience safely and carrying the benefits of the ceremony into your everyday life.
Key Principles:
The facilitator’s role is primarily to provide calm, attentive presence. Silence and gentle guidance are powerful tools. The ceremony is a self-led inner journey supported by the medicine, sacred space, and facilitator. Physical grounding, reflection, and connection with the plant spirits are central, ensuring participants leave the ceremony feeling supported, safe, and centered.
